I am not just taking a year off of work to teach in Africa. I am intending to make missionary work my primary vocation. This means I may be back in the States for a little while but then I will go back out.
My goal is to learn how orphanages are administrated. I want to learn as much as I can about how orphanages are run. At some point, perhaps I will begin orphanages myself.
Ultimately I want to help rescue children in crisis: slaves, sex slaves and refugees. Think “Underground Railroad”. Of course my work may go undercover at that point and then I will not be able to post blogs so overtly.
I do not know how this vision will change in the next year as I live out the practical realities of being overseas but my expectation is for the vision to grow.
