About Me

Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a desire to live in Africa and help the children. There aren’t any overseas missionaries in my family. I was raised in the paradigm of local ministry. I can only explain it as a God given desire.

This desire continued to grow until I visited Africa for the first time in the summer of 2008. I went with Mercy and Truth medical clinic of Kansas City, Kansas to Tiyamike orphanage in Bangula, Malawi. Honestly, they thought something was wrong with me because I was struck silent by the stark contrast of beauty and desperation all around me. It was a dream confirmed.

Planting Hope is the blog that will detail the journey of my return. This time it is not for a few weeks but for a year in war-torn Sudan.

And after that!?! You’ll just have to follow along with me to find out.
